Above the Wild: A Serengeti Balloon Safari at Sunrise

I never imagined that silence could be so powerful—until I floated above the golden plains of the Serengeti in a hot air balloon, watching the world wake up below me.

The day began in the dark, long before sunrise. We were picked up from our safari camp while the stars were still out, the night air crisp with anticipation. After about an hour, we gently touched down in the open savannah, where a champagne breakfast awaited us—complete with fresh fruit, eggs, and stories exchanged with fellow travelers who were just as awe-struck as I was.

The balloon safari was just one part of our Serengeti adventure, but it was the heartbeat of the trip. The perfect beginning to a day of game drives, big cat sightings, and dusty roads that led us deeper into the wild.
