ITINERARY

DAY 1

Travel Day (Nairobi – Dare-salaam)

7:00 PM: Meet in town for familiarization with the team.

7:30 PM: Board the bus ready for departure.

8:00 PM: Depart from Nairobi towards Namanga Border. This will take about 3 hours.

11:00 PM: Border stop and check with immigration before we are allowed into the country. It is mandatory that you have the following documents (Passport or Temporary Pass which can be acquired on E-Citizen at 350/- and a Yellow Fever Certificate which can be acquired at the border for 1,500 )

It is at this point also that you will do your currency exchange from KES to TZS and get a SIM if you’d like one. However, there will be Wi-Fi on the Bus from Namanga onwards.

DAY 2

Dare-Salaam

1:00PM : Arrive in Dare-salaam.

The bus is likely to arrive an hour early or late from 1 PM.

Upon arrival, you will have a chance to enjoy local delicacies for lunch before going to the hotel(Self-Sponsored)  there after, you will be transferred from the bus terminal to the hotel. After checking in, you can opt to rest or go explore Dar. We will spend our 2nd night in Dar.

Details about the hotel will be shared as this depends entirely on availability at the time of booking. 

8:00 PM : Dinner is served.

Guests retire to bed at their own pleasure.

DAY 3

Dare-Salaam – Zanzibar

5:00 AM: Breakfast is served.

5:30 AM: Check out from the hotel and transfer to Dar Ferry Station. Dress up for the beach as we shall be going straight into excursions once we get to Zanzibar. Alternatively, you can pack clothes to change into once we get to the island in an easily accessible hand bag/ tote bag.

6:30 AM: Board the Ferry and leave for the island. Here you will enjoy the views of the crisp blue Indian Ocean waters and if lucky, get to spot most of the aquatic life.

8:20 AM: Our guide will be there to receive you. He will also show you where to keep the luggage so that you can have a seamless excursion without a hassle.

Activities we will do in Zanzibar on this day:-

• Explore Prison Island
• Embark on Stone Town Tour
• Tour Forodhani Market
• Try out local delicacies
• Shop for Souvenirs
• Boat Transfers
• Watch people jump at Port Stone in Zanzibar. You can consider them read out your name at a cost.

6:00 PM: Depart to the hotel. You will be transferred to your home for the next 2 nights.

7:30 PM: Arrive at the hotel and head straight to dinner before checking into the rooms.

8:30 PM: Check in and freshen up.

You can join the group at the hotel lobby for card games and catch-up conversations or you can opt to retire to bed.

DAY 4

Zanzibar

6:30 AM: Breakfast is served. Ensure you lock your hotel room when you come to the lobby.

7:00 AM: Our guide will pick us up and transfer us to engage in day’s activities

Activities we will do in Zanzibar on this day:-

• Explore the aquarium where you will get a chance to explore marine life
• Swim with the turtles
• Explore Kendwa Rocks or Minembe Island
• Beach Experience
• Souvenir Shopping
• Evening Dhow cruise Experience
• You can have lunch at Kendwa Rocks. Being a hotspot for tourists, the costs are slightly higher. Budget for around 20$. Alternatively, you can carry enough snacks that will sustain you till dinner at the hotel is served.
• You can also opt to participate in beach activities such as (Paddling, snorkeling, kayaking, horse-riding, jet skiing etc.) N/B: This will be self-sponsored.

DAY 5

Zanzibar – Dare-Salaam

7:00 AM: Breakfast is served.

After breakfast, you can enjoy hotel amenities e.g. the pool.

10:30 PM: Depart from the hotel to the Ferry station.

12:00 PM: Ferry departs from Zanzibar to Dare-Salaam.

1:20 PM: Arrive at Dare-Salaam.

Afterwards, we shall go to the hotel and check in. Here, you will get a chance to use the hotel amenities e.g pool before dinner.

After dinner, we shall gather and play card games as we reminisce the events of the past few days.

DAY 6

Travel Day (Dare-Salaam to Nairobi)

6:30 AM: Breakfast is served.

7:00 AM: Depart from the hotel to the bus terminal.

8:00 AM: Begin our journey to Nairobi.

Expected arrival: 11:00 AM on 13th November

Please note that we will stick to the above itinerary, any delays or changes shall be communicated prior. Kindly do not risk being left behind at any point.

12. Sandals, crocs, slides to change into after the activities.
13. Toiletries (Sunscreen, tissue paper, wipes, jelly, lotion, lip balm, sanitary wear)

Please also, note that the tourism insurance currently stands at 44$ and is compulsory to anyone visiting Zanzibar.
