Tour Information

This unforgettable journey transports you deep into the ancient, emerald depths of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most biologically diverse rainforests on Earth. Often cloaked in mist and mystery, Bwindi is more than just a forest — it’s a living sanctuary where time slows down and nature reigns supreme. Nestled in southwestern Uganda, it is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining critically endangered mountain gorillas, making it one of the last safe havens for these gentle giants.

As you trek along its winding, leafy trails, each step carries you closer to an experience that defies words. The sounds of rustling leaves, distant bird calls, and echoing primate chatter fill the air, creating a symphony of wilderness that awakens your senses. With the guidance of expert trackers and rangers, you’ll navigate dense undergrowth and steep terrain, all in anticipation of a moment that will stay with you forever — locking eyes with a mountain gorilla in its natural habitat.

It’s more than a safari. It’s a soul-stirring, humbling encounter that connects you to the raw beauty of nature and reminds you of the fragility and wonder of life itself.

GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI

Today is the highlight of your safari—tracking the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a 7:00 AM briefing from expert rangers. The trek through the dense rainforest can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you will have a magical one hour observing and photographing these gentle giants.

After the trek, you may choose to unwind at the lodge or take part in an optional cultural experience, such as a guided village walk, a visit to a traditional medicine man, or an interaction with the Batwa community.

RETURN TO ENTEBBE (8–10 HOURS DRIVE)

After an early breakfast, begin the 8 to 10-hour drive back to Entebbe. Enjoy the stunning views of the countryside as you pass through rolling hills, tea plantations, and vibrant local towns. A lunch stop in Mbarara (approximately halfway through the journey) offers a chance to relax before continuing the trip. Expect to arrive in Entebbe by early evening, marking the end of an unforgettable gorilla trekking safari.
